mi will never forget di 2 days mi spent ova boscobel wid no water.
is when mi leaving yaad mi cousin dem call seh dem get water. mind you dem call 5 weeks after mi left dem.

Hermitage dam is supposed to be undergoing repairs or something like that, but not even that should have resulted in water shortage. Both it and Mona resoviors is older than every one of us, and the reason why they shift developmental to port more is because the water system in Ksac area could not cope neither water nor sewer is adequate. Jamaican leaders does not understand the importance of water to nation building. Jamaica should have moved ahead with a national irrigation scheme and decentralized potable water system since independence. That is what the first 20 years should have been concentrated on.
Then the next 20 would hav ehad a foundation to build a nation on. The reason why Israel will not give up the elands they stole from the Palestinians, is because of the water it has. nothing else. jamaica have the water but instead of utilizing it, for the country's development. They are selling it to cruise vessels so that they can undercut the tourism product of the country while the people starve into open warfare.Comment

Yet they have a 6ft diameter water pipe that supply the cruise vessels. guess whaere it get water?? yes it is the same Boscobel. They allow private company to export jamaica's water while the locals die of thirst. they will not stop until the people riot. th eproblem with Jamaican sis that they don't give warning when they are going to explode. Just like a volcano.

Wisynco Group is reporting that revenues of it's Wata brand of drinking water have grown by close to 50 per cent this year. Managing director of the White Marl, St Catherine-based manufacturer, William Mahfood has said that the surge in sales of the product may be due to the ongoing drought that is affecting the island.
"We are seeing record sales... I don't know if it's because of the issues people are having with water supply, but we are definitely seeing record sales for Wata," said Mahfood. "For the last three or four months it has been this way and I'm sure it's going to continue because I don't see any signs of any rain that's going to ease things up."
Wata is the number one bottled water drink in Jamaica, controlling some 60 per cent of the local market.
This summer is one of the hottest since 1994 and also one of the driest in almost 30 years, with average temperatures over 33 degrees Celsius and rainfall levels down 25 per cent over last year, according to Meteorological Service of Jamaica data.

Government creates a scarcity by neglecting to maintain adequate water supply, so that the private sector can make big profits selling Jamaican water at a profit.
Seee how well it fits into the security status of the country??
In that case government maintain rules that renders the population insecure and in danger for their lives, thus making it profitable for private businesses to make a profit securing those who can afford it. In both cases it creates an attractive business environment at the expence of the people. Government operating in a way that makes it attractive to business at the expense of the people and the country on a whole.can you imagine the amount of private sector businesses that the country loses by such myopic strategies to achieve economic gain??
well this is all about the dearth of real economists that are willing to work for the country.
Why??
because no one would pay, and the private sector would object ti those appointments. doc i dont think the popularity of bottled water in Jamaica is based on the scarcity or availability of water.
in my view the upsurge in sales is due to the unusually hot weather ..that combined with the ready availability of cold bottles of water from vendors all over the place..When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....Comment
