Barbados raises reward after tourist murder

Police in Barbados have doubled the reward for information leading the arrest of a man responsible for the attack on a Canadian tourist who died in Ottawa this week.

The reward is now US$10,000.

The attack took place on a south coast beach last month.

Family and friends of 60-year-old Terry Schwarzfeld were in mourning following the news of her death on Wednesday.

She was described as a respected charity worker and leader in Ottawa's Jewish community.

What do you mean? I've heard years ago that crome and drugs are pretty bad there now.

Years ago folks used to get thrown off this BB for mentioning crime in Jamaica. The Tourist section and GD was the worse sections of the site. It was not just this BB even the Gleaner boldly said it was not going to print violent crime stories on its front page no more.

It is interesting that we keep flogging this Sir Trevor thing to death when we can conveniently forget so many other things. Sir Trevor might have been wrong or just out right lying about the peace and tranquility of the other Islands in comparison to Jamaica but he was most certainly not wrong about the violence in Jamaica.

If he was I did not see where any attempt was even made to refute his allegations. Instead all we get is a determined effort by Jamaicans here to show how violent Barbados, Trinidad and other Islands are, a sort of here Trevor in your mug.
At the end of the day it makes us look petty and worse freaking crazy, rather than focusing on our problems we are spitting in the wind hoping it might catch Sir Trevor in the eye.

It is as if we secretly hope Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua, the other Islands and Archipelagoes in the Region will be as were brought low. That the kind of crime and violence we have become used to in Jamaica will overtake these territories and we will be all one be sad, violent region. Then we will be satisfied that Sir Trevor will be truly punished for his diss on Jamaica.
Till that day come we will still have to make do with 30 murders on our birthday strongend, 4+ murders per and the title of murder capital of the world forever.
