Tourism officials capitalizing on Berlin

Officials are capitalizing on Jamaica's high profile presence at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, Germany to promote the local tourism sector.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett who is leading a 50 member team to the event </span>says efforts are being made to enhance Jamaica's profile on the world travel market.
Following Usain Bolt's record breaking finish in the 100 metres on Sunday, Mr. Bartlett told RJR's Financial Report that the marketing effort is having the desired effect.
"This is just one idea that's flowing through the various positions that we can take to ensure that the market is stimulated in favour of Jamaica as a result of these events. We continue to utilize the event to (liaison with) other trading partners and also to benefit from the 1,500 media that is here from all over the world who are at varying points, our guests at our VIP station here in Berlin," said Mr. Bartlett.
