my point excatly..the weather pattern has changed in recent years and will probably change again ..i dont think its worth the expense to try to make the road unblockable.

I don't thiunk it is th eweather at all. Iti sthe result of th elack ofmaintainance of a perfectly built protection system, that nobody realized the value of maintaining. That road was about 10 feet above the ocean and the windward side had large riverstone placements and was still as high a s 15v feet abiove the waves. It hel for decades, and now instead of rebuilding it to the original height, they simply clean the sand and repave it only for the ocean at 3 feet to complete erode it and make it impasable again. It is all about humanbehavior and nothing about weather. It will take a considerable amount of money to restore the road in order to make it &quot;unblockable&quot; in addition to putting a maintainence programme in place.
