I guess I would broaden the question to ask if you would sue a family member for anything?

depends how grievous. for example..i would press charges against anyone for hurting my children. my husband's nephew lost an eye in the care of his grandfather. the grandfather allowed a child to play with a wire hanger and so that happened. If that were my child there would be hell to pay!
