Well,most people will say that DANCEHALL is part of jamaican culture,....however,maybe it`s just me but I still cant see why the little youths in the video are in that environment,or allowed to be,and looks to me like they are doing some daggering of their own.

As unpleasant as it may sound to some I dont blame the japanese girls,I blame the environment that allows such slackness,the girls didnt invent it,..they are merely joining in,I`m sure there are many adults present who didnt see anything wrong with whats happening,.....because it`s all part of the dancehall culture,and just another example of what passes for &quot;fun&quot; in jamaica nowadays.

The main problem here is ppl are using words like &quot;culture&quot; and they don't know what it really means....when in essence dem a condone slackniss at the expense of other ppl's children.

Those little youths belong in the environment[s] that their parents can afford for them to be...the fact that they might live in the slums doesn't say that they have to be exposed to wantonness, particularly from <span style="font-weight: bold">farrinahs</span>...the question should be, how did these women find themselves there?


....and that is the crux of the matter....they are who they are, the lowest of the low where tourism is concerned and THEY CHOOSE to sniff it [daggering] out, find it and participate in it and use it as a form of sexual <span style="font-weight: bold">EXPLOITATION OF OUR CHILDREN</span>..


Does anyone think that any Jamaican could go to Japan and duh dem saawt a faawt deh whedda dem govahment tend to uphold it or not?


Neutral, again we disagree, your logic holds no water...basically what I'm hearing, to use an analogy,<span style="font-weight: bold"> it is like rapists who would choose to rape a woman because she is walking half-naked, and might even be drunk in a country where women are not regarded in the society</span>...and this is not to say that our children are not regarded as worthwhile...dem juss poor....why couldn't these women go and look if they so desire, to rub up on a Joe Grind if that is what they went for, and leff people picknie dem alone...


We are really scraping the bottom of the tourist barrel where tourism is concerned, and as I said before, this is why a certain CLASS of tourists seh dem will NOT return to visit Jamaica anymore...dem cyaan deal wid whaa gwaan now..

Basically what I am pointing out is that it really isnt the fault of the japanese girls,they are merely participating in something that is now grounded in jamaican society,...we mustnt blame the messengers,..there were adults at that dance,they saw nothing wrong,the boys participated in the daggering and everyone around them laughed and thought it was funny,..how can we blame the foreigners,dancehall is pretty big in japan,and a few years ago a japanese girl actually won the title of dancehall queen....in jamaica.

The dancehall culture may not appeal to everyone but I am afraid it is now accepted as part of jamaican culture,...and it is whether we like it or not.

Yes, dancehall might be big time in Japan...but *I* for one can say that that sort of wantonness would nat bi tolerated in Japan where those sexually explicit gyrations could go on, [unless it is behind closed doors with consenting adults), much less with children, some of whom don't appear to have reached the age of reason...would they love to know that this happened to their relatives or children? Why do it to others who might be less fortunate?

Edited to add, they are adults, the boys are children; they should be smart enough to know that what they are doing is improper, unless they are children themselves [housed] in adult bodies.

Perhaps the Japanese women here just see daggering as a dance with no sexual connotation whereas others see sexual overtones in the movements. Just offering one explanation for their behavior - maybe they see it as this cultural thing that all jamaicans engage in - and that what they're doing here is like an adult doing a play waltz with a kid. Would I want to see my young kids male or female doing this ? No. But I've gone to street dances and seen very young kids doing the daggering dance. For them it appears to be just a dance and not sexual . It was so ridiculous I had to laugh but forgive my double standard I would not be amused if it was my own kid doing it. I guess my point is if ur going to be outraged by the daggering dance then be consistent about it - be it jamaicans , foreigners, adults or kids .

This is know for one FACT....many times in Jamaica you are dancing alone. Then someone pull up to your bumpa...if you are at Jus Cheers in Ochii, you really really need to turn around and see who it is, cause many times is a little yout maybe 11, or 12. They are ALWAYS there, and they stay until the end of the night and pick up glass beer bottles, and dance if someone will let them.

I have had this happen to me and many a person I have taken there , and we just tell the little boys NO...

They act like grown men and think they are grown men, and I don't doubt that maybe some people don't say no. Yeah that's sad, but this is a true thing that does happen.
