The present menatality has to change in order for meaningful change to take place in Jamaica. Mamma and pappa a gunman and thugs so the next generation don't have any positive role model and the cycle repeats itself. Jamaica has a high rate of illiteracy and dem have to address that problem before they can move forward.

Educate the children and motivate them...Insist that they go to school and remain in school until they graduate. The illiterate parents should be held accountable and they should insist that they get involved in the children's educational process. The government should entice them to go to school by providing basic free breakfast and lunches for poor children in the innercities from kindergarten age up to about 15 years.

A lot of children don't go to shcool because the parents don't have the money to provide breakfast and lunches and hungry children can't learn. There are international organizations like UNICEF that will provide donations and fund meaningful programs like a breakfast and lunch program for needy children as long as they go to school. There are resources out there (non-profit organizations) that will provide some funding if only those stupid politicians really were looking to help poor people, but no, they are only seeking to help themselves.

We have a brilliant set of ppl. Jamaicans are superstars, we are brilliat and special, and we are truly blessed. Given the opportunity, a lot of our innercity kids have potential to reach the skies....Only, they do not get the opportunity to shine. How sad.
