Four Jamaican women were arrested by the UK Border Agency on Wednesday in an operation targeting people suspected of taking part in false marriages.
The four, aged between 36 and 53, were detained in raids in Birmingham.
It is the latest stage in Operation
Vestige, which the agency said is the biggest immigration fraud ring to be smashed in the area, which saw a number of false marriages take place.
The four women are alleged to have married British citizens solely so they could remain in the UK after overstaying their visas.
The raids were based largely on intelligence provided by a Jamaican man, Venrick Clarke, who was jailed last year for masterminding a sham marriage scheme.
