At present the Rethugs have a rep in the southwest that they not only ask him not to run.
They have since conspired to starve him of all funding and contributions. They doesn't have anything against asking a governor to step down. Only have a problem that the governor is black.

What the Dems are going to do is to support and fund a strong primary candidate, while starve him of party support and funding. </div></div>

It may be the job of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to advise Patterson that he shouldn't run, but not the president of the US, Barack Obama. </div></div> what exactly did Obama do?

In a message delivered by NY Congressman, Gregory Meeks, the prez essentially told Gov Patterson he should quit the NY governor's race.
