Or they are merely offering it as the only other option, while stoking fears about it's danger, then labelling every attempt at making capitalism manageable as socialism??

No, capitalism concerns the transfer of capital/wealth (usually from entity (individual)/buyer to another/seller).
Free enterprise - the means by which capitalism is excercised, but may not always involve the transfer of wealth. The right to have such a vehicle with the &quot;hope&quot; of achieving the transfer of wealth (though not always successful).
Although they are often used interchangebly.

Yes, the USA understands and practices and actively promotes capitalism, they stringently abide by the rules. It is for the other to fully understand the methods to which the US will go in order to promote and enforce capitalism, and to use that knowledge in order to strengthen their economies. The US becomes increasingly more sophisticated at capitalism.

No it is not possible...there is only a limited amount of resources. And humans grown increasingly more intelligent to understanding the rules of fairness. Even with the increasing sophistication...there is also human hunger for justice which does not always tally with Capitalism. If all people were equally good at the game and fully understanding how to participate, and have similar capacity - then there will be a pushmy-pull u effect that should maintain equilibrium. But that is not the case.
Not all knowledge is fully available, not every begins at the same level, and those at the bottom with the least knowledge, and most resources will be more vulnerable.

A method of adjustment needs to happen where those that have applied capitalism too strongly will need to demonstrate goodwill in order to stay ahead. Economic crises occurs when those that hold the most knowledge and resources for the practice of capitalism loses track of the why they need to be &quot;seen&quot; to be fair.

No. In any case, &quot;pure capitalism&quot; is a fantasy. This should now be clear to the anyone with half of a brain. Also, we see the US retreat behind protectionism as recently as when it imposed (or will impose) tariffs on Chinese tires.

Regulated capitalism, yes. Enforceable anti-trust laws, clear rules of corporate governance, transparency, availability of information, a sound ethical framework, are necessary for the functioning of the system - a referee for the game, if you will. My view is that incorporating aspects of the welfare state - free education to at least the Bachelor's degree, universal access to healthcare, livable pensions, strong industrial relations legislation, public ownership of certain natural resources from which come great wealth (especially in developing countries) government-run mass transit, regulations on media ownership - make for a more just system. Other than that, leave people alone to enter whatever venture they so chose, and make as much money as they want, as long as it's made ethically.
