Leo Taddeo, the director of New Era Homes was granted bail in the sum of $750,000 when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on sex charges yesterday.
He was granted bail on condition that he keeps the peace and not to interfere with the investigation. Bail was granted after attorney-at-law KD Knight made a lengthy application.
The Crown originally opposed bail on the grounds that the complainant was threatened and that the accused posed a threat to children.
It is reported that Taddeo reportedly offered three the three complainants $500 and then $800,000 to have sex. A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
An investigation was launched which resulted in Taddeo being charged with three counts of sexual grooming.
Resident Magistrate Natalee Brooks granted bail to the accused. He is to report daily to the Matilda's Corner Police Station and returns to court on January 29, 2016.
