I have a very <span style="font-size: 8pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">tiny</span></span> amount of respect for Butch.

The sub-standard construction troubles that nagged the Sandals that was built in St. Elizabeth was front page news in his newspaper even though he knew it would be bad publicity for the Sandals chain. Eventually the resort was shut down for a period to fix all the problems.

i USED to have a high amount a respect for Butch.
back in the days.. he gave decent wages to a close family at appliance traders and helped him to relize a dream..
He APPARENTLY &quot;took over&quot; a faltering Air Jamaica and turned it into a decent airline (that didnt last too long).. and I remember him selling a portion of his foreign exchange to the market at below rates back in the days in an alleged attempt to stem the rapid devaluation of the J$ shortly after the PNP decided to lift controls off the foreign exchange trade.
Mi (as a naive youth) saw a gentleman who had the well being of Jamaica in his heart.

Mi not sure what his reason is behind suppot FOX News.. a mean, the question can be ask, &quot;what has Obama done for Jamacia (per sey).. since he's gone into office&quot; ??
A mean Obama could for all intents and purpose hold Jamaica in some form of disdain as many Black Americans allegedly do.. a mean, in all his worldly travels, and relationship mending, I havent seen Obama really reached out to struggling Caribbean nations in any substiantial way..
Despite that.. A black man holding the highest office that a man can achieve in the world super power would be a reason to support him.. dispite his nuances..
See how me see it, young kids today dont see ablack man holding the highest office in the land as a joke for comedic skits or in a hollywood movie where life on Earth is about to be anahilated.. because of Obama, The kids, newborns today wont be able to concive in their brains why a black person cant be a great achiever in relms other than Sports of Entertainment,.. Little black girls living in the Whitehouse in not a fairytale.. The fictional Hucktables are no longer the epitomy of the black family..
so for that I find it strange and dissapointing that a company whose navel string is in Jamaica would be supporting an racist, bigotted establishment like FOX news whose sole existence is to ensure that &quot;this black boy&quot; fails.

I agreee with these sentiments.

This announcement is news to me, but as a general skeptic, especially when it comes to &quot;philanthropic&quot; whites to a blacks, I was always open to a possibility such as this.

In terms of response, not sure what the correct way to go about it is.

Can certainly avoid Sandals and other such owned establishments.

The Observer newspaper that he also owns, provides a very useful forum for Jamaicans to air their views on all matters, so perhaps that can be used as a forum to voice concerns about the owner's support of this racist organisation.
