Funny thing was that just about everybody use to find it strange why my kids were so independent, but still obeyed me even in my absence.
children have to be taught at very young ages,the reason why each rule is there.
after that is done they become teachers of their peers themselves.
since they always have the answers.

i have never told any child including mine to do something without explaining the logic of doing it.

It give them so much confidence and pride in this new knowledge. too many parents are not as skilled in doing so.

i'm pretty sure her parents explained to her *why* she was supposed to stay with her brother.

children will know *why*....but still do illogical things.

That is the biggest myth about children.

And that is the source of teen rebellion against parents later. Most parents accept these myths and it result in a feeling of inability to manage children. this is philosophy so prevalent in areas of incomplete knowledge.
i see it every day,in medicine and with doctors that is suppose to know what they are doing.
Just this week this physician after after we did a procedure weeks ago . he came back for evaluation of the result. He had difficulty in performing it before.
his remark about the result was <span style="font-weight: bold">miracle</span>. this is because he had no faith in the ability in the procedure being successful.

I told him g had to do it again, before he could be certified.
reason is he did not understand the principles enough to realize that the result was expected base on the principles followed in way it was done.
which is too common. That is why the teaching of parenting is a necessity.
If you have that attitude, you are in the same position.
Children will not go against what they believe.
and they will believe a parent that does not prove to be unreliable or incompetent in their answers..
...and I can prove it.

The important thing is to explain the truth in ways that appeal to their level of understanding.
My kids had me doing science projects at their schools.
because they would tell the teachers how things work,and they always fiond it facinating.

mi feel bad for the parents who don't necessarily want to do it, but have no choice to have the children walk home by themselves.

the 10 year old shouldn't have to be responsible for her 7 year old twins. the amount a guilt dat gwine tek ova her life now

child predators don't usually have jobs because most of them have criminal records.

their main job is to cruise neighborhoods, playgrounds, schools and anywhere children hang out, to watch and wait for that one child to wander off by himself/herself.

where a sex offender lives often has a lot to do with the affluence of the neighborhood, as well as the specific state/city laws.

some states/cities stipulate that they can only live in a radius of x miles from places children frequent etc.

in miami(dade county), the laws there are so TOUGH sex offenders can only live under a bridge (because anywhere else violates the city/state laws)

in quite a few recent cases, this year, where children went missing, there were at least 100 offenders surrounding the child's house.

This is very sad!

There was just a case in Davie where a 3 year old told his parents he was molested (I don't know the specifics).

Dad and a next man beat the guy in to a coma. I really can not blame Dad.

Yes I think its the warm weather. Easy to hide-out all year round. And yes, Florida is full of them. Child molesters, killers, drug dealers. For some reason, they all seem to like to congregate here.

Back in 1974 I got tired of the cold and moved to Florida for a short time. I lasted only 4 months, mostly because I noticed way back then the amount of weirdos. Don't get me wrong..I met some nice people too, but holy moley the weirdos vastly outnumbered the real people! I have never felt a desire to return.

I feel terrible for the mother in this story because I was a single working mother as are so many women and I haven't forgotten the daily dilemmas of that scenario. This has to have a huge amount of people feeling very uneasy. My heart goes out to them all because, what are they supposed to do?
