Tyrone Mears.The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) will have to be more vigilant when it comes to handing out passport to players born outside of Jamaica.
This is because it has been revealed that Tyrone Mears, who was given a Jamaican passport in order to play in the Reggae Boyz' friendly international against Nigeria, <span style="font-weight: bold">is not Jamaican</span>.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Mears thought</span> <span style="font-style: italic">he was of Jamaican blood </span><span style="font-weight: bold">but it has been discovered that the 26-year-old has no Jamaican connection as his mother is British and his father is from Sierra Leone.</span>
This could affect the Burnley defender's from fulfill his boyhood dream of playing for England.
Mears is currently ranked as the third best right back in England.
Horace Reid, General Secretary of the JFF says this should not affect Mears' chances of representing England as he did not play for Jamaica in an official match.
In the meantime, Mears is appealing to FIFA to change his nationality to English.
Howard Bell the man who handled the papers works for Mears says he will have an official response on Monday.
