alernative paths and so on... from my persspective I can only look where I was and where I am...


I was a day labourer and peasant farmer.... my assests were a machete, a hoe, a pickaxe two sets of leaky water boots, two square of gungu peas with alternative rows of thr other Jamaican cash crop... Granted the old man had his own peice of the cockpit country not mine. (With the greatest veiw on the planet, made the paintings by the impresionist look pedestrian) I had a small reliable income,... subjct of course to the intervention of the red stripers and blue seamers...

I am certain had I stayed in Jamaica, with that hand of cards given the social mobility of Jamaica I could have developed into a highly sort after consultant whos cleint lists includes 6 of the largest transnationals on the planet...Whos advise is requested and considered by both national policy advisors, NGO's, presidents, who is diretly responsible for the first company to export waste from Africa to Europe...Who played a minor role in increasing the GDP of one shael country by 50%...

Against that the cohort against which I judge my self are : RichD,RichD brother, writers in the New Yorker, Top photographer in the Observer, the best interveiwer on POWER 106, business men,Dentists, consultants at cornwall regional hospital, a partner at PWAterhouse, VP of JPS, Deputy of JDF, Couple care taker of constiutients amnd my favourite a fella whom BG would call a ******* ewwho on being unfairly fired from a goverment job in STE because of his poltical opnions led to a road block, cut off the loads to a 1/4 of Jamaica, a threath to chap down holland bamboo...

I played the hand I was given the only way it could have been played .. I took huge leaps of faith...I did evil, imoral things yet in hind sight for me it was teh only choices to fulfill the dreams...Even last night I was at a reception being offered champange and sushi ate the most expensive resturant in Scotland over looking the harbour... I turned down the champange for Italian beer.. I waved at the guys on a supply boat and I recalled the ST E veiw which I threw away on migrations with a small twinge of nostalgia ...Some of the cohorts I mentioned have told me I was a great influence on their lives, my uncompromising stance, the way I opened their eyese to other religions philosphies,world places and people in the world and perspective as we stood under the anciendt bell toewer.. the way I analysed our socutrre our futures and the fact we were the creme of Jamaica and we owed it to the 95 % of people who would not have our opertunity..

Had I stayed in Jamaican that would have been my legacy, that would have been my finest hour a minor influnce on the life of some average leaders and a panoramic veiw....I left for my reasons to fight wars for idealism like my parents had , to see Samakand, to see Glasiers, Mumbai, to play cricket at Lords, to box, to run throught the jungle, to be blessed by the pope, to stand on the beaches in West AAfrican to look back where the roor of the African / Jamaican metamorphisis took place, to be washed in the waters of the Nile, the Ganges, the Eurphatess, the Congo,Amazon, the Rhur, the Nige, to see snow on the ground in June, to look at Uluru, to race cars on the motor strada, to drive for an hour at 180 mph ... To ptlay chess against grand masters, to lead men to death, to do the Haj, to see the spots where ancestors ripped the hearts out of living victims as scrifice, to dance in Vienna, to sit in the lecture theateses where Where Marcus GArvey sat.. But thatt may be a big rationanalistion, I may have left for baser reasonsto have sex .. No Jamaican ooman is gonna love a poor labourer with no prospects but a swing of a machete.. (Tropi tell wi shi ah deh Jamacian ideal but shi nuh want no bruk pracket man who wise but poor shi want man who established and like polo.. and I like Tropu..)

One of my Jamaican cohorts expressed sentiment the best..We are all succesful, We all had different ambitions, differetn asperations.. We all acheived just differetn goals...

Been here too long, too ingrained. I would seriously consider migrating to a another country like St. Vincent or Portugal.</span>

any regrets in ur decision to migrate? <span style="font-weight: bold">Nope. I am always happy to visit Jamaica, especially Kingston and south coast. And I am always glad to leave and anxious to return to my chosen home.</span>

Maybi mi would hav som regrets if crime was not suh outa control dung deh, especially whe mi com from, but mi do miss di island.
