It is good to see that a civil servant wants to improve his systems. Not very often and acknowledgement of fault or lack of efficiency by public service. I would say after every election a wrap report is needed and each improvement made...
I know Mr Fisher... But let say he is not my favourite person in the world...

Jamaica's Director of Elections has made a recommendation for a review of the speed of the Electronic Voter Identification and Ballot Issuing System (EVIBIS). This is in reaction to complaints of slowness in its operation.
The EVIBIS allows registered electors to be identified and verified at the polling station by using their fingerprints. It was used at some polling stations during last week's election.
Director of Elections Orrette Fisher, speaking on RJR's Beyond the Headlines, on Monday, acknowledged concerns about its speed, but asserted that the system is operating normally.
He said he was was open to a review, however, because he wants to increase public confidence in its performance.
Mr Fisher is also proposing that a review be done of the provisions in relation to the use of cell phones at polling stations.
"The law presently says that you are not allowed to use your cell phone inside the polling station, so we generally ask voters - if you are a lady and you have your handbag to put it in there; if it's a gentleman, you keep it in your pocket."
But he said the law could be reviewed to determine whether to impose a ban on taking the phone into the polling station in the first place.
He said the rationale for not imposing a ban on taking the phone into the polling station, in the first instance, was the fact that "a lot of Jamaicans would not want anybody else handling their phones."
Accordingly, he said, "we decided not to take away people's phones but to have them put it away."
