Read the story below and tell me if you don't think that none of these families reported this po-lice even after their daughters told them that this guy was molesting them?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
A girl was sexually molested several times by a 25-year family friend, a man they looked up to as a police hero, a court heard Wednesday.
"You wore a badge to serve and protect but you were the person we needed to be protected from," the mother of a 16-year-old molested by her "Uncle Don" when she was 5 or 6 told Donald MacCallum in a victim impact statement.
The respected Toronto police sergeant has pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual interference and two of sexual exploitation. He admitted molesting his daughter's friends at his Port Credit home, on his boat and while carpooling.
Justice Peter Wilkie will sentence him in January for sexual offences against 10 girls who were aged 5 to 15 between 1996 and 2004.
MacCallum, 53, was an officer for 33 years, decorated for his firearms and extortion work, and was once named police officer of the year.
Now he has life-threatening medical problems and has tried to commit suicide three times.
"I have ruined countless lives and lost my family," MacCallum said in a statement read by his lawyer Harry Black, who wants a conditional sentence of nine to 12 months of house arrest.
Crown Toni Skarica is seeking two years less a day in jail.

He was just a close family friend but a 12-year-old Mississauga girl decided to bring her "Uncle Don" to school for Grade 7 careers day instead of her Dad.
"My father was a successful businessman but there was nothing cooler than bringing an undercover cop to school," the girl, now 16, told a Brampton court Wednesday. "He was my role model..."
But she had buried a horrific secret, one she kept locked away in a dark place in her mind and hidden from her loving parents.
She never told anybody Donald MacCallum - her "Uncle Don" and a respected Toronto Police sergeant - had sexually molested her several times when she was 5 and 6 in his Mississauga home.
Justice Peter Wilkie will sentence him in January for that crime and other sexual offences against
10 girls aged 5 to 15 between 1996 and 2004.
Crown Toni Skarica is seeking two years less a day in jail plus three years probation.
"He used his talents as a police officer to prey on young children...there were multiple despicable incidents," Skarica said. "By my count, 80 sexual incidents over an eight-year period. If anybody deserves to go to jail, it's him."
The girl, her parents and her cousin read their emotional victim impact statements to the court. They revealed how their once trusted and close friend stole the young girl's innocence and betrayed them and devastated their lives.
MacCallum, now 53, was a distinguished police officer for 33 years, decorated for his firearms and extortion investigations and once named police officer of the year. He played key roles in several international gun probes, including his undercover work in infiltrating a Russian narcotics crime group.
Now he's a broken man with life-threatening kidney, bladder and heart problems, who has tried to commit suicide three times and a convicted sex offender having pleaded guilty in September to eight counts of sexual interference and two counts of sexual exploitation.
"I have ruined countless lives and lost my family and destroyed lives of people involved," MacCallum said in a statement read by his lawyer Harry Black. "I constantly think of the nightmares I've caused...I can never be sorry enough..."
Black wants a conditional sentence of nine to 12 months of house arrest for crimes "shockingly out of character" for a man needing constant medical care. A prison sentence would require him to be in protective custody to prevent him being killed, he said.
MacCallum admitted he sexually molested his daughter's friends at his Port Credit home, on his boat and in his vehicle, carpooling friends' daughters to various ski hills.
Two of his victims, now 16 and 18, who appeared in court described how they still have nightmares, are afraid of the dark or being alone. They have trust issues and see MacCallum's face when they look at other police officers.
The 16-year-old teen disclosed what happened to her following an end-of-year school trip. After MacCallum's arrest, other girls went to police.
Her parents were so shocked and disbelieving that they made her "swear on the Bible" that "Uncle Don" molested her.
MacCallum was among her parents closest friends for more than 25 years. He celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with them, enjoyed summer barbecues and Christmas gatherings and helped them deal with family deaths. He was a police hero in their eyes.
The teenagers' mother and aunt, tearfully told the court how her daughter and niece blocked their painful memories and often woke crying in the middle of the night.
"You wore a badge to serve and protect but you were the person we needed to be protected from," she said.
Black said his client becomes physically ill with nausea when he talks about what he did.
MacCallum was arrested in May 2007 for the historic crimes.
"This is a tragedy for everyone involved but he's not evil," Black said. "But his remorse, guilt, sense of shame and grief is overwhelming..."
MacCallum never had intercourse or oral sex with his young victims but admitted touching the vagina of some of them. He admitted reaching under their clothing to massage some of his victims' breasts.
He once exposed himself to another 5-year-old girl and touched her vagina when they were alone on his boat docked in the Port Credit Marina.
what are we gonna say about the nice police man now?
