i was a big time outcast for being skeptical during the presidential campaigning...nuff black ooman bun fiyah pon mi chroo mi neva vote &amp; i used to bun fiyah pon obama anytime he deserved it...
i never had any illusions when i saw him talking about the vision of 'our founding fathers' &amp; dem ting deh...as if the founding fathers had any vision for <span style="font-style: italic">us</span>...
i found that offensive in the wake of him employing martin luther king-like cadences &amp; symbolism, which to me was propaganda to overwhelmingly win the black vote...

but still i wish him well even though i oppose the war in afghan &amp; i know he's a politician...i suppose he was the best choice &amp; his win was important for some blacks around the world who needed this type of symbolism...
i only hope the country can experience some kind of positive turnaround during his term...

I was one of the advocates. First point - Obama did not ASK for the Peace prize, and I don't think that he should let it influence his actions.
2ndly, the way I see it - suicide bombers as terrorist threats are REAL - real people blowing up themselves to kill other real people.

If Afg. is the source of the schism then the might needs to be thrown against it.

Mankind ain't going to stop war and suicide bombing because Obama is in whitehouse, these are the tools at his disposal in current age, naive to back down because you think the world has changed overnight - or a bunch of people throw an ornament that tells you to practice &quot;peace&quot; (passivity). He didn't start the war...My only hope is that he succeeds at finishing it. This will be a real achievement if he was to win this - Russia were in there for however many years and didn't achieve much - prob. made the situation worse.

Russia probably would have pulled it off if the CIA hadn't equipped the Afghans with with stingers. Kinda ironic. How many times the U S has ended up fighting people they originally help to attain power.
Invest in war stocks and move to a safe place...you can't go wrong. Try New Orleans....nobady gives a hoot about what's happening there.

glad u brought up the US aiding the Taliban vs USSR..i have always wondered how dem dont provide di blueprints fi dat stronghold of a cave system they built for the Talibans to use...di said one weh dem claim my guy was held up in...

frankly, i believe people of the ilk of Rush , Hannity etc r in power n would allow the US to sink in a morass of dem own wrong moves, as long as dem continue to mek money

again i say, who went along wid downsizing the US forces while outsourcing at tremendous cost, the jobs dat regular enlisted men use fi do fi less money

follow the money being made n u see who want this unwinnable situation to continue

u cannot fight other people's fanaticism wid supposed might...it has neva been a winning plan, going bak to the Crusades

I never said or implied the above. I was hoping you would counter something I actually said - like &quot;buyer's remorse&quot; and selecting a winner who is about to wage a round of violence on an impoverished nation, killing and maiming possibly hundreds of thousands in addition to those already killed or maimed. So, Obama may not have asked for the prize, but the Norwegians could rescind the award; I don't know if there is a precedent, but it would be well within their prerogative to do so. And while they're at it, they could take back the war criminal Kissinger's prize as well - the medal and diploma, that is, and ask that he refund the money received.

Well, that's one form of terrorism. There are, of course, other methods, like bombing entire neighborhoods to get two or three human targets, or reducing villages to rubble and dismissing the carnage as &quot;collateral damage.&quot;

As a base of operations for the planning of terrorist activities, Afghanistan is neither here nor there, since that can take place pretty much anywhere, even - heaven forbid - from an apartment in any Western country. If you took a moment to think carefully about the threat we supposedly face from Al Qaeda, you may find yourself asking why 75,000 troops and billions of dollars are needed to get less than a hundred men who are supposed to be a part of some network that can be organized from anywhere on the planet.

The rest of your post suggests you drank the neo-con 'kool aid' which you may no doubt regard as realism. The fact that you put &quot;peace&quot; in quotes, which you then dismiss as passivity, says it all. Obama may not have started the war, but he is determined to make it his. What better way to embark on savagery that to shroud it in national security considerations and even patriotism.
