How do you go about getting a background check done from the FBI if you live in Jamaica. The person went to school for a few years in the US as an adult and then returned to Jamaica.

The person now needs to get a background check from the FBI in order to migrate and needs to know how to go about obtaining it.

Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

You need to give more specifics - not understanding what you're asking because, when you apply to migrate, your check is automatically done by the USCIS - it's done by virtue of applying.

You cant get an FBI check done on your own.

But this is generally speaking - I dont know the particulars of the person's case that you're referring to.

First, never heard of anyone asking for a background check to be done on their own self for the purpose of migrating; and from the FBI of all places.

Never heard of the FBI doing a background check just so on an individual. The FBI does background check for several purposes and for their OWN use 1) for employment, 2) yu a terrorist suspect 3) yu a communist and seen as a risk to the United States. (Get the drift?) And when they conduct these background checks... dem nah mek yu know. lol!

Companies conduct their own background checks through second-party systems for employment purposes. This is done out of their own pockets.

If the individual is looking for references and referrals then they should know who/whom to contact (former places of employment, teachers, etc) but not the FBI.

dis is a new one ...but since it is asked, the easiest ting is since FBI is a USA agency, di smaddy should go to the USA Embassy where believe it r not u ha FBI, CIA agents all under di guise of embassy workers

but i have never heard of a Jamaican needing di USA's FBI to check on dem outside of the usual emigration process since it would be eida di embassy in Ja r the immigration office in the state of a potential sponsor who oversee the process...either way, the days of the individual getting even dem fingaprint is ovah n done wid...dese days u juss put u finga pon a computer like ting n dem scan dem...u no haffi go police station go tek di blak ink ting anymore in di US....

Anywhere you have lived for over 6 months you have to get a criminal record check from there.
Since the patrtiots act. whenever you do a state CORI check they also include a national ceck too.

the person is not migrating to the US but the fact that the person live in the US for a few years a background check is needed from the US. The person said the background check should be done by the FBI as per the document that they got.

Previously processed fingerprint cards will not be accepted.
3. Payment

Include $ 18 - U.S. dollars in the form of a money order, certified check made payable to the Treasury of the United States (please be sure to sign where required), or you may pay by credit card. Note: No cash, personal checks, or business checks will be accepted.
