think of it...both gave up their childhood, prodded, led r however u want to term it by fathers

now both r being accused of secret pecadilloes that show a need to an independence they may have missed out on

with MJ it was the simple joys of being a child wid the toys, the animal etc

wid Tiger, it would seem the simple joy of dating , spreading his wild oats as a teen boy..aftaa all he went straight into marriage, seemingly wen he had a momentary dayoff in his busy golf career.

both had their parents , especially dem fathers always around in every aspect of dem adult career so is like dem had to have a secret life juss of dem own

anybody else see any inkling of this similar but opposite behaviour and the abscence of a 'normal' childhood as contributory factors to their latta day behaviours ?

Here's something new on the subject from the WashPO. How does that fit in with the topic? Well Tiger and MJ were both very controlling of their images, only MJ took it more literally.

Leave Tiger alone. Enough with the puns -- we get that he's really just a &quot;cheetah&quot; in disguise. Enough with the Barbie-of-the-Day revelations -- we get that he's attracted to a certain type. Enough with the whole thing -- we have far more important things to worry about.

Yeah, right. Sit down with a friend over lunch and try to have a conversation about health care, climate change, financial regulation or Afghanistan without straying at least once onto the oh-so-unimportant subject of Tiger Woods's philandering. I've given up trying to deny that the unfolding saga is compelling, even if paying attention leaves me feeling a bit disappointed in myself. Prurient interest is rarely something to be proud of.

I'm beginning to fear, actually, that the unfolding may never end. If you're the richest, most famous athlete on the planet, and you have an eye for cocktail waitresses and nightclub hostesses, the opportunities to cheat are probably limited only by the number of hours in the day. It's becoming clear why Woods's initial mea culpa was worded vaguely to cover any and all &quot;transgressions.&quot; Wouldn't want to leave anybody out.

I'm not going to pronounce judgment on Woods's moral fiber, except to state that adultery is bad. I'm also not going to judge the women who have reportedly had affairs with him, except to point out how quick they've been, as soon as their names have surfaced, to retain high-priced legal counsel. I will suggest that Woods consider this possibility: Random women he meets in restaurants or bars may not be reduced to putty by his good looks or sparkling wit, but may in fact be aware of how wealthy he is.

I was going to critique Woods's technique of adultery, or at least his apparent selection of playmates, as measured against a theory about philandering developed by my colleague Roxanne Roberts, who has spent years covering the capital's libidinous social scene for The Post. Roberts postulates that famous, powerful men who stray would be smart to choose women who have just as much to lose if the liaison were exposed. Some ultra-rich tycoon's young trophy wife, say, would fit that criterion. Cocktail waitresses and nightclub hostesses, not so much.

In fact, Woods seems to have hooked up with the kind of women who save old voice mails and text messages -- giving their high-priced legal counsel something to work with.

But as more women surface with claims to have bedded Woods, one does begin to marvel at his capacity for multitasking. He is known on the golf course for almost superhuman powers of concentration. Who knew that between shots he was also juggling such complicated logistical arrangements? Or did he have an off-the-course caddie to help with that sort of thing, the way Steve Williams helps him choose between the seven-iron and the eight?

Here's my real question, though: What's with the whole Barbie thing? No offense to anyone who actually looks like Barbie, but it really is striking how much the women who've been linked to Woods resemble one another. I'm talking about the long hair, the specific body type, even the facial features. Mattel could sue for trademark infringement.

This may be the most interesting aspect of the whole Tiger Woods story -- and one of the most disappointing. He seems to have been bent on proving to himself that he could have any woman he wanted. But from the evidence, his aim wasn't variety but some kind of validation.

I'm making a big assumption here that the attraction for Woods was mostly physical, but there's no evidence thus far that he had a lot of time for deep conversation. If adultery is really about the power and satisfaction of conquest, Woods's self-esteem was apparently only boosted by bedding the kind of woman he thought other men lusted after -- the &quot;Playmate of the Month&quot; type that Hugh Hefner turned into the American gold standard.

But the world is full of beautiful women of all colors, shapes and sizes -- some with short hair or almond eyes, some with broad noses, some with yellow or brown skin. Woods appears to have bought into an &quot;official&quot; standard of beauty that is so conventional as to be almost oppressive.

His taste in mistresses leaves the impression of a man who is, deep down, both insecure and image-conscious -- a control freak even when he's committing &quot;transgressions.&quot;

see dat is wat i am hinting at...the type of women chosen is so at odds wid di cultivated public persona...if u tink bak to his mother's statements re her expectation of her son yadada n wi know the 'stereotype' of the Asian mother re her son...then u have the relationship wid his father n his much n often stated wish to neva let down his father...

u cannot help but wonder, given this , juss where the real Tiger lies...

but u know , Tiger's choices didn't have to come from di bottom of the barrel so to speak...n from wat i am reading , his dalliances were an open secret...the golfer from Arkansas, the off the beat one, well, his estranged wife says the cheating wid di golf groupies by golfers is well known on the circuit....now the other golfer who Tiger is suppose to be his best man at his wedding some time next week, well he the prospective groom is the one who made plane reservations fi Tiger fi one of the ladies coming out the woodwords...

see, how i see it, lots of women of a say higher tone (not colour but level of odda woman club) would deh wid T n kip dem mout closed...wid his money he could have got at least one...but he, time n time again, chose di stereotypical sleaze, looking fi a good time wid a rich man, n mek no bones about it , type of woman

a psychiatrist would mek some deep analysis of dis behaviour...u no tinks o

What me see that the two have in common include the following:

- Self-loathe and the fear of being associated with their roots

- Self harm and their lack of confidence off the &quot;field&quot;

- A level of hatred for women (even though them praise them mothers).

- Them struggle with them manhood and responding to a society with expectations of them to &quot;PERFORM&quot; like MEN outside of them &quot;job&quot;.

- The lack of understanding of consequences and them role in &quot;real&quot; life

- Them sense of absence from reality

Tiger got into the &quot;club&quot; albeit after much rejection and hard fighting on him daddy part, which is why him got such privileges. Now the other club members want to choke him for letting the &quot;kittycat&quot; outta the bag.

That's why him so-called friend tried to distance himself so fast, cause him wife staring him down as we speak.

Elien or whatever her name is did not get the memo on what wives (in the club) put up with so between her and her outsider husband, them break down the dolly house of the prestine golf whore house.

RUSH: I just checked the e-mail during the break and I'm being castigated by a few people for telling jokes or making fun of Tiger Woods and his situation. People think I ought to be a little bit more sympathetic, given that I have been under this kind of scrutiny so much and understand it. Look, I've met Tiger Woods one time, it was way back at the AT&amp;T Pro-Am, was on the putting green. I think it was Poppy Hills. It might have been Spyglass. But regardless, he was very nice, and I had a chance to tell him -- it was 2000 or 2001 because I remember I told him how much I admired his focus during that incredible season he had of 2000, and other than I've never seen him again and I've never talked to him.

I know what happened here. I know what happened. I'll tell you exactly what happened. I'm going to tell you what happened in a psychological sense. I don't know the details of all this stuff, but it's very hard -- and a lot of professional athletes are this way -- but the moment that they are discovered to have superior athletic talent with the possibility of getting a college scholarship or even moving on to professional sports, baseball, football, basketball, what have you, they are coddled, they are treated as special. When that starts happening to you at a young age, when you are perfect, when doors are opened for you, when obstacles are moved out of the way for you, it can't help have a cumulative effect over the course of your life and it starts very young. You know, Tiger, the first time people saw Tiger Woods was when he was three with Bob Hope and his dad, or Johnny Carson, somebody, Mike Douglas, I forget who it was. But Tiger's been known and thought to be special, and you can't help but think that you are when that starts happening to you at that age. The world tells you from the time that you are discovered that you are perfect and wonderful and special.

And then you get married. And marriage is a whole different thing. That one special person finds the truth, you are not really perfect, and you are not really wonderful, and all that everybody else thinks about you is not true, and then you are not treated that way, because a spouse, you have a relationship with a spouse that is going to be different than the relationship with anybody else. So if you're not getting that treatment from the person closest to you, you're going to go out and find it. You're going to go out and find it wherever you can because you become accustomed to it. What do you do when you expect to be treated as though you're perfect and wonderful and you're not, what do you do? You go seek it where you will.

And I'm trying to say something without saying it, I hope you can figure it out on your own, but can you say groupies here? You take it from there. I mean, he's not prowling the halls at Harvard or MIT. He's prowling the halls of nightclubs. So that's what I think. I've seen it. I've worked with professional athletes. We're all a product of who we are and how we're raised. I'm just speculating here, but, as I've always said, folks, don't doubt me. Remember, I'm documented to be almost always right now 99.5% of the time.
