American tourist hit by bus

An American tourist died from injuries he sustained when he was hit by a Mitsubishi Coaster bus on the Norman Manley Boulevard, Negril in Westmoreland last night.

He’s 57-year-old Robert Richie of New Jersey, in the United States.

The Constabulary Communication Network reports that sometime before 10 o’ clock Mr. Richie ran across a section of the Boulevard and was hit by the bus.

He died on the spot.

I'm reading on another site that this was a suicide. Apparently a suicide note was found in the dead man's hotel room.

If he wanted to commit suicide by jamaican bus he neednt have ran infront of it,..all he had to do is to sit on one of those things for more than 10 minutes.

It was discussed and dissected and and analysed here as a news item.
The tourist died after his first attempt was thwarted on the same day.
It was confirmed that it was intentional, after the second at

Suicide by bus is not something I would consider though, waaaay too iffy. an potential to be painful an not life ending.

I read that on negril.com and Jamericans.net. What a crappy thing to do to somebody! You wanna die, well go ahead and kill yourself, but why suffer the driver so?
