I think he wants to be President of the USA for many reasons none of which includes war, but he centrist he not an ideologue, war is one of the many shackles that comes with being the President of the USA. If on the day he has to fight a war I think he is even more capable and willing than any USA President since Lincoln and Roosevelt. He is at the heart of it all a Politician.

Mandella, Ghandi, and dem man deh who live for peace and love deserve it, as I truly think this man would have done the same??

Longer reasoning:

The prize is given as both as reward and an encouragement acknowledge or raise the profile an individual that is working for World Peace, other than the two high profile wars there are other engagements that a US President is ask to take a leadership stance.

Right now he is in the thick of Nuclear Arms reduction talks, Climate Change negotiations and restoring the World Economy all of which has the potential to destabilize the world and start or prolong wars.

guy was given the award, he did not seek it out. it wasn't a competition where he threw his name into the ring. no defense needs to be made except by the people who decided to give the award to him. and i do believe they have repeatedly provided that defense. if u don't buy it, that's cool, but it is uncool to hold it against obama.

i'm simply questioning the propriety of this award and mostly the timing of it...
i heard his speech &amp; it was a good one, but i still question this entire award- nobel;
much in the same way i question the motion picture awards- oscar
