An allegedly homosexual man who was blinded by his companion during a domestic dispute <span style="font-weight: bold">has again urged the courts to release his friend.</span>
Claude Pryce popularly known as "Wendy" who lost his sight when his eyes were gouged out by Arthur McTaggart, 32, reiterated in court Thursday that he does not want to pursue the case against his attacker.
In court Thursday morning, Pryce urged Presiding Magistrate Sonia Bertram-Linton to release McTaggart on bail <span style="font-weight: bold">because he wants him to come home to take care of him.</span>
He said it has been difficult for him to get around since the incident and he needs the help.
Pryce continued to demonstrate a reluctance to pursue the case against McTaggart, but the Magistrate Bertram-Linton said she could not throw it out.
A January 7 court date has been set.
McTaggart is charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning Grievous bodily harm.
Investigators reported that on November 22, both men who lived together at Calabar Mews were involved in a fight during which, Mr. McTaggart gouged out the eyes of his room mate who he also pepper sprayed.
McTaggart then went to the Constant Spring Police Station to report the matter.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he was admitted but doctors were unable to save his sight.
The police decided to press charges despite Mr. Pryce's wishes for them not to do so.
