lol does it matter the color of Jesus Christ skin. The point of the matter is that he was born and died for our sins. The skin color doesn't matter what is important we have an intimate relationship with him.

tell that to the people who always get angry when a non-white portrayal of jesus is used...
answer me this...
if it does not matter why do some people get so upset?
let's face it, the commonly accepted image of jesus is a painting of a white guy....
how many people would walk into church with no feelings if the white christ portrait they are used to was suddenly replaced with a black one?

O come on we dont need CSI to realize that Jesus Wasnt white.

The little that we do know is that he was born in a hot foreign(non westernen country) and was known by a non - westernised Name/s
Christian Europeans see Jesus Christ as an religious Icon and painted/moulded their icon into an image of themselves. just as most Cultures tend to do.

Infact if you were to study any of the ancient or older Cultures and Religions you will see that religious Icons bare a resembelance to the peoples that practiced them.

This would be why white Italians are taking offence to the Black Nativity display. right or wrong they feel it doesnt represent them or their beliefs.

Because Italy IS a multicultrual Country Like most European Countries are . The sensible thing would have been to display two nativity scenes One depicting a Black Jesus and his family the other depicting white. Both with slightly different backdrops and detail.

This would create a useful topic of converstation if only to recognise and then celebrate Differences &amp; Diversity
