Remember how the swine flu was a pandemic that was supposed to destroy the world as we know it?
I guess it didn't happen.
Why are we not surprised.
Turns out that the deadly swine flu was weaker than the normal flu and the biggest health danger was from the vaccine.

Swine flu is a joke ya now...as yu seh, the seasonal flu wila.
I was always wondering what the hysteria in the media was about.
They were counting every single death when the people who died were people who had complicating conditions.
But everybody get frighten ana tek two set a jook...one fi swine flu and one fi seasonal flu.

Everything you do in life has some calculated risk involved.
You should be making your decisions on intelligent data and not stupid conspiracy theories. That said, the benefit of eliminating the chance of illnesses far outweighs the risk of the vaccines themselves. It's a science but there is no such thing as an exact science. Wake up people. The reason that the world has eliminated many diseases is because of science and the prevention of diseases through innoculations.
The flu shot is a dead virus. The nasal form is a live virus.
I would be suspect of putting any live virus in any form in my body, but again it's a science. You take your chances either way. Me? I get vaccinated every year. I had the flu about ten years ago that incapacitated me for about ten days. That was enough for me. I now get the flu shot(s) every year.
PS. Do you fly? Airplanes are breeding grounds for contagious diseases. If you fly and travel quite often you are crazy not to get a flu shot.Comment

I fly all the time, never have gotten the flu or the shot and don't intend too. My cousin and aunt get the flu shot every year and guess what? They are sick as dogs, so what's the point. Everyone from my employers, to their kids even the kid's grandmother has had the flu already this year. No flu for me.

Of course, it's your choice. Thank God we all have choices.
If you fly all the time YOU will eventually catch some type of illness. It almost impossible not to unless you have some type of super immune system and that's not the norm.
If those you mentioned cotracted the flu, they either caught a flu virus that was not included in the innoculation or they had already contracted the virus before or about the time of the flu shot. The virus can take up to two weeks to make you sick and the shot can take up to two weeks to make enough anti-bodies to prevent you from getting the disease. There is an incubation period.Comment

I received the swine flu shot and I get the regular flu shot every year. Never suffered any ill effects at all except for a bit of a sore arm for a couple of days after the H1N1 shot.
I have not had the flu now for many years and I use to get it every year like clockwork prior to the shot.Comment

Nope, haven't caught any sickness from a flight so far. Coming back from Mexico there was this teacher behid me barking like a seal, saying she had the flu.
Why she disn't stay home is beyond me.
A lot of people don't have choices, I heard on the radio how some are being forced to take the shot whether if they want to or not. People in the health field have to take it as well as people in the army.

I'm with you Milo, I get the shot every year and this year I received both. The reason that most of these flus do not reach panademic proportions is because of people like you and I that receive the shots on a regular basis.Comment

That's interesting. I can understand the military because once you sign up with them they own your sorry butt until your finished your tour. Private health firms should not force anyone to take anything they do not want.....Hmmm, but then again Obama is forcing people to purchase healthcare.Comment

So us crazy people who are willing to let our bodies take care of the flu if we get it even if we are willing to listen to the conspiracy theorists are happy doing so and I dont really see (maybe I am wrong) anybody telling anyone else they shouldnt take it so more power to you and all the other people who are willing to get vaccinated.
Science is pure and every body including big pharma companies have living conscience so sue those of us who question the motives especially when it gets to the point where the doctors are saying something like 90% of the flu cases this year are actually H1n1 and unless you have complications they aren't even testing you or medicating you. My son had the flu and he even sleeps with me but with proper hygiene etc and rest he was better in a week without infecting any of us. I stayed home with him and in 5 days he was ready to roll again...Comment

Same here, they were dropping out like flies around here, and yes when kids are sick you just can't shoo them away.
I know I washed my hands more than 100 times a day while at work. I had to come to work to take care of the sick ones.
