Years ago just after 9/11 I did a little research and posted it on the board about the years, effort, time and money that Governments, organizations and individuals spent chasing Ilich Rameriz aka Carlos The Jackal.
Finally it turned out that he had grown fat and sickly from all the ransom and high living, no broke and needing treatment he practically turned himself in.

It is very difficult to catch mad men and women, folks whose singularly spend their time and effort devising ways to execute the crazy notions in their heads, (We see it daily in one form or another).
Where those persons or persons is aided even in the slightest by individuals, organizations or worse Government(s) it is almost impossible to catch them.

At the time I said it should be a lesson to the USA on catching Bin Laden and if they keep missing clues and bombing the wedding parties of Nomads in the Desert then they are only making it worse for their efforts. If by some means he is still alive I doubt they will be able to catch him or stop recruitment to his organization if USA pursues the same strategy, not until he or they basically run out of steam.
