well mi go ova TOESOL office go speak to di smaddy weh send mi di email. first im start studder when mi ask what exactly World English was den im start wid im PC explanation bout Creole, Patois, how everyone foreign born person haffi tek English proficiency test ahn if dem nu pass dem get ESOL...what im find is that poorer countries that have history of &quot;interruption to student education&quot; policy as par for course, then students from those countries usually do not fair well of course. World English is new classification for people that come from countries with those educational policy. then im name off Liberia, Jamaica, Haiti, one next country ova someplace in polyneisia....

My son is Canadian born. During my meeting with his first grade teachers, one teacher thought that (1) my kid shouldn't be in French Immersion &amp; (2) will he be needing ESL (English as a second language).

said it before and will say it again. nuff jamaican kids these days, english is not dem first language, and often times they do not learn standard english at school.
