my take.. he got too embroiled in healthcare and the creation of jobs suffer.
Where is the guy that talked about "putting america to work.. rebuilding infastructure.."
I thought we were on the brink of a work revolution.. instead we spend a entire year doing a political dance.

i'd dare to say, foregt about healthcare, people need jobs.
its that simple..
remember the first Bush senior and the phrase 'its the economic stupid.."

Ended tax benefits to corporations who outsource American jobs; the new policy is to promote in-sourcing to bring jobs back.

Created new consumer protections from credit card industry's predatory practices.

Students struggling to make college loan payments can have their loans refinanced.

For starters…talk about squandering opportunities.. the Stimulus package was loaded with pork that had nothing to do with job creation. Again poor leadership here. Barack gave me the impression that he was going to be no nonsense.. In a time of crisis like what he inherited he should have put his foot down and ensure that every red cent of what he called stimulus was going to NOTHING BUT job creation and for SB stimulus.

Instead, most of it was watered down and eaten away with special interest projects that served just a small sector of a constituency. That was another big mistake that they are not willing to acknowledge. The Stimulus worked in some cases (civil servant jobs) but could have been far more reaching and effective if targeted properly and not full of waste.

govt run/funded programs that see the building and rehabilition of infastructure.
For example, new Orleans..and other southern states prone to flooding.. creation of a transportation grid that would allow fast evacuation possibly via high speed trains. These high speed trains could be used generally to move cargo and commute, but have a DR plan for thier use in time of disaster. We all remember the gridloc on the highways each time they try to evacuate the south..

Rehabiliting aging infastructure. Stuff like
Drinking water sytems in cities like Denver.
DC's and other cities aging inadequate transportation system
fixing and replacing aging bridges
road repairs and expansion.

di kinda stuff he spoke quite abit about during the campaign..

27 Billion dollars for hwy for all the states. It is dependent on the states giving proposals. Most of the money the 27B will be spent this year. EG New Jersey is expected to receive estimated 651M. eg spending 37M to resurface I287 in NJ which is a really bad road. The issue is when you see the people working on the road, it may not clearly appear that is is stimulus dollars at work.
