Fortunately it does not start here. It starts with a boos who is running a Media outfit as a personal brothel for his cronies and himself. It does not matter if victims were clothed or naked on the job.

We don't know all the facts. There were over 15 accusers, there may be more and varied stories. In any case, even the worse instance of one of these women going with the what Mr. Salty Nuts wanted still makes her a victim.

The common thread is. The guy ran a crappy joint, it was sexist and hostile to at least some of his employees. He was using a powerful position to recruit females for his twisted sexual fantasies. So (I am sure), he is in violation of what his business licence says. All his victims should be compensated.

Sexual harassment in the workplace is definable under USA workplaces laws. I would not say any of these women received any benefits have been harassed and treated as common prostitutes.

A lot of workplaces are very dangerous and unhealthy, yet still folks are lining up to enter them. For various reasons, many workers in Entertainment and media feel it necessary to endure the twisted fantasies of their overlords. Being a lab experiment is not a real benefit, if you signed up for advertised work, that did not specifically say you are a common prostitute or emaciated Barbie Doll.

Children, that's a different story. If someone decides to starve themselves so they can model it's their choice. The only exception I can think of is a scenario like Karen Carpenter who was victimized by the press to the point that she developed an eating disorder.

These women were not victims. We are dealing with GROWN women, attractive blondes to boot who have access to a myriad of opportunities....even if they keep their legs closed. They made choices and reaped the benefits.

We are not talking about a domestic helper in an emerging nation with no education and few options.

Example: A tribunal found that while the most common understanding of sexual harassment is conduct such as making passes, soliciting sexual favours, sexual touching, etc., the definition of sexual harassment also includes conduct that denigrates a woman’s sexuality or vexatious conduct that is directed at a woman because of her sex.^[17]

Human rights law clearly recognizes that sexual harassment is often not about sexual desire or interest at all. In fact, it often involves hostility, rejection, and/or bullying of a sexual nature. For more information, see the section entitled “Gender-based harassment.”
The following list is not exhaustive, but it should help to identify what may be sexual and gender-based harassment:

• demanding hugs^[18]
• invading personal space^[19]
• unnecessary physical contact,^[20] including unwanted touching,^[21] etc.
• derogatory language and/or comments toward women^[22] (or men, depending on the circumstances), sex-specific derogatory names^[23]

• paternalistic behaviour based on gender which a person feels undermines their status or position of responsibility
• threats to penalize or otherwise punish a person who refuses to comply with sexual advances (known as reprisal).

Defining sexual harassment

Section 10 of the Code defines harassment as “engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct that is known or ought to be known to be unwelcome.” Using this definition, more than one event must take place for there to be a violation of the Code.

The reference to comment or conduct "that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome" establishes a subjective and objective test for harassment. The subjective part is the harasser’s own knowledge of how his or her behaviour is being received. The objective component considers, from the point of view of a “reasonable” third party, how such behaviour would generally be received.

Well? It says nothing about how naked/clothed you have to be or whether you got a million dollar salary or two cents. So victims are the ones that get abused and the have the right to claim.

Apologies Tropi, I was making some typo edits to it and it froze. Tried to fix then ended up deleting in frustration! Lol!

I agreed with you in that women who play the sexual harassment card when not getting what they want, after they had previously been all up in the behavior, should be told to go sit in a corner somewhere. I disagreed with you about people being judged by the way they dress. This means nothing. Actually my daughter has a friend, and if you see her sometimes, you'd think she was a dancehall queen - I admit I have seen her on several occasions and thought "Lawd". Actually she is an intelligent woman with a PhD and a great job in her field, but dresses the way she dresses because she likes it and for no other reason.

I was basically sharing a couple of experiences, I worked in Investment banking and had a boss that was very handsy. I had warned him early on that I was not the one for him to do that with. He chose not to listen so I ended up shotting him a box one day after he decided to grab my bottom. He thought that was hilarious. I never got in trouble, but he did make my life miserable in the office. I desperately wanted to keep my job because it came with a 2% mortgage interest rate as opposed to the 15% rate that was in at the time. As a single mother to 3 I was desperate, but I was not about to hang around for this fool to make me feel less than. I left.

Another instance working for yet another investment bank. There was a woman there who was nicknamed "Mattie" as in Mattress because of how she carried on and the things she did. Everyone knew and she didn't care. She was climbing her way to the top and did what she felt she had to do to get there quickly. One year she didn't get the promotion she thought she was entitled to, so cried foul. Took her boss and the company to court for sexual harassment (this was a woman who WILLINGLY slept with clients to close a deal), it was all over the national newspapers back in the UK. Anyway she ended up winning millions in damages. In my opinion she should not have gotten a dime.
