Re: At what age did you leave home?
19.
Mum, dad, family split.
Moved a couple of miles up the road to live in my dad's auntie's big yard.
She didn't like my (loud?) music, the smell of funny cigarettes, or me.
Escaped a couple of years later to my own place. (Is this why I'm such a good cook?)

Re: At what age did you leave home?
15. I needed to spread my wings. The rules at home were bogus [to me]. In retrospect...they were entirely bogus.
I quit school and moved downtown to work as a civil servant. I saw NO future in that and subsequently returned to school the following year. I did one year at home and then the final year out on my own again.
All it took was 6 months to figure out that no education was not going to set me up for any kind of decent future. When I moved out...I was barely passing my grades. When I graduated...I stood first in the graduating class. I wasn't going to waste MY time. [and I think I wanted to show my parents that I could do it MY WAY.

17 and I moved away to go to University. Within weeks of my leaving my bedroom was turned into a sewing room
