Bacchanal Jamaica (Ja Carnival)

Anyone going? I went last year, and I'm still washing blue paint from mi hair from di J'ouvert. Having been to a quite a few Carnivals (Trini, VI, entire east coast of the US...), I have to say that I was impressed by Jamaica own. It can gwaan still.

Is anyone here going, or unu nuh really too inna di soca-jump-and-wave vibe?

Yuh usually a spectator or yuh tek part?

Oh an yuh eva bin to DC own? Dat mi hear sey can gwaan ..but mi neva even goh near dat wan seka di crowd.

A weh you a seh bout speculate or participate? It no fun if mi nah put pon mi costume and jump up inna di band lol. I participate...heavily lol.

I have been to DC's carnival <span style="font-style: italic">*counts...*</span> a whole heap of times yes! It is not for the faint of heart, though...it has been going downhill lately.

How is Caribana? And how yuh get tired afta one hour...weh you a do? lol

Caribana aright .. a nearly 4 yrs now mi noh head back up dey (Canada) Mi a plan a Canadian trip dis yr dowe ..nat sure if mi ago mek it coincide wid Caribana. Still up ina di air.

Well all mi a do a tan up a watch people jump up an down .. Den mi wave mi Jamaican flag wan an 2 time an den mi tyad out

Serioulsy crowded events tend to drain mi out faas..doan know why

I been trying to find out when Ja carnival gonna be this yr..i know it's usually in April an mi waan know if it will be going on when i am there

This year the road march is on Sunday, 11 April. J'Ouvert is on 9 April. I'll be covered with chocolate, writhing on some unsuspecting man in the miggle a Knutsford Blvd.

Nothing wrong with a few dutty thoughts during the work day. It's healthy for you .

Hopefully I can check out Caribana one year, but as you said, I've been hearing that it's going downhill also *sigh*.

Well we sure do miss you on the road . Do please try to come back . Jamaica does a really good J'Ouvert...especially the paint-covered blow up sliding board (MADD!) and the all you can drink FREE rum (I sound like a lush lol).
