Nadya Suleiman became an instant celebrity when in 2009, she gave birth to 8 babies via IVF. With 6 babies from previous pregnancies and 8 more babies in one go, Suleiman was given a nickname of octomom. She received death threats and public outcry when it came to light that she was unemployed and raised her kids on tax payer’s money and disability checks received from government. Let’s see how her life has panned out since she gave birth to 8 children.

Who can forget Nadya Suleiman or Octomom? The 41 year old woman created media sensation in 2009, when she gave birth to eight children using the IVF technology. Suleiman was first married Marcos Gutierrez in 1996, but the couple separated in 2000 and divorced in 2008. Suleiman went in for her first IVF procedure in 1997 when she was 21 years old. She had 6 children using this technology and in 2008, she requested her doctor to transfer the remaining 6 embryos into her for a possible sixth pregnancy. The doctor by the name of Michael Kamrava transferred not 6, but 12 embryos into Suleiman and she became pregnant with 8 children at the same time. Thanks to this stunt, Dr. Kamrava lost his license to practice in 2011.

Suleiman gave birth to 8 children in 2009 and became an instant media sensation. Public however weren’t too pleased as Suleiman was living off the disability checks received from the government after she had hurt her back working in 1999 and used $165,000 from the same money for her IVF treatments. Though she said that she would go back to college to complete her master’s degree and raise her 14 kids independently, investigations found that she was still unemployed and lived off public welfare and on money she received from her TV appearances etc. Unfortunately, she had to declare bankruptcy and apply for government assistance when the money dried up. But her failure to disclose her source of income led to an investigation against her.

She was then forced to work as a stripper and even worked in an adult movie by the name of Octomom Home Alone. She also took up boxing to fight in celebrity boxing show. But ultimately she was found guilty in court of law and was sentenced to probation and 200 hours of community service. She also checked into rehab for treatment for anxiety, sleeplessness and stress for 28 days and has been taking Xanax for the same. She setup a GoFundMe page, asking public to help her with money in order to raise her 14 kids and will also be releasing her first ever album and has acted in a low budget movie as well known as 666 the devil’s child.

It is clear that Nadya Suleiman has some imbalance. But she lives country that can catch and take care individuals who are clearly not right if it chooses to. This is not an everyday occurrence, even for folks who think they should have out their lot.
Most women or cultures that subscribe to the notion that one should have all the kids they can bear are more looking at the natural process not via a petri dish. It is not clear that Nadya Suleiman could produced all the kids she wanted to bear without the help of science.

She is not a good example for railing against, "the having out your lot argument", (even with the eventual economic and social problems that she has experienced). She is a better example of what is wrong with the USA's approach to health care, especially where it is complicated with mental frailty.

Octomom files for bankruptcy... just one month after going on welfare

Despite professing she never would, Octomom last month had to go on welfare in order to support her 14 children.

But even that couldn't help Nadya Suleman's situation and it has been reported that she has now filed for bankruptcy.
The debt-ridden mother-of-14 allegedly filed for chapter seven in federal court today - the most serious form of bankruptcy.


Today it has emerged that the auction of Suleman's house in La Habra has been postponed.....


The home, which came under scrutiny recently because of its dilapidated state, was supposed to be auction off today after Nadya stopped making payments more than a year ago.


Amir Haddadin, who loaned Suleman more than $450k to buy the house, was told by Indy-Mac bank Monday morning that the auction had been postponed.


And filing for bankruptcy is not the only measures Octomom is willing to take, as she has also confessed she would be willing to star in a porn film if the offer was good enough.

Suleman has turned down offers in the past but has now told HLN: 'If the opportunity comes up I'll be the first to admit: I'm going to eat my words. Because all that matters is that I can take care of my family.'


She added: 'If it's a job, and it's a well-paying job, and it's going to allow me to get out of here and move in a very safe, huge home that they deserve, I'm going to do it.'


Last week Suleman came under fire after images of her squalid home emerged and she was accused of child neglect.

Last week Octomom’s hairdresser lodged claims she was neglecting her children at La Habra Police Department, which prompted an investigation.The woman called Stephanie said she had spent $520 on two cuts and chemical straightening for herself.
But Octomom insists that the amount was a payment in advance for 29 haircuts, all for her entire brood.
After her hairstylist lodged the claims against Suleman, images of her squalid home then emerged.
Graffiti was seen on the walls, clothes and mess was strewn everywhere and the children were using portable potties in the backgarden in images that emerged.
Suleman now claims that the damage done to the house was by her elder children.
She told The Sun that they suffer from autism, but are usually well behaved, due toher amazing skills as a parent.
