Unlimited paid vacation days

SEATTLE -- Two weeks in Maui, a week off in Lake Chelan, and another week to stay home with the kids.
Can you imagine a boss that lets you take all the time off you want? Rosemary O'Neill, president of Social Strata, is that boss.
"Bottom line is unlimited paid vacation for full-time employees," said O'Neill.
Social strata isn't your punch-in, punch-out kind of employer.
This week the company, which facilitates social networking for individuals and businesses, surprised employees with the announcement of its new vacation policy.
"I think they thought they were being punked," O'Neill said.
The company has done away with all the separate policies for funeral leave, jury leave, military, maternity and paternity leave.
"We have grownups in this office. Why not give them the opportunity to schedule their lives the way they need to?" said O'Neill.
You might imagine lengthy, elaborate vacation, but Lori Hope has a different plan in mind. She plans to use time at home, helping her husband, who fell off a ladder.
"He needs help bathing, dressing and feeding, so a little like a baby," she said.
There's no maximum, but there is a minimum of two weeks.
"To know that my employer trusts me gives me a lot more impetus to do better," said Hope.
And no, Social Strata currently doesn't have any openings.
