Lochte Lied? Report Of Public Urination, Broken Stuff And Gas Station Fights
Lochte Lied? Report Of Public Urination, Broken Stuff And Gas Station Fights
Gas Station Stop
The car pulled off at a Shell gas station. And that’s when a scene entirely unlike the described robbery scene went down.
According to Reuter’s security source, there, two of the swimmers proceeded to pee near the back of the gas station. They also proceeded to break an advertising sign.
A surveillance video aired on Globo TV shows the four swimmers arguing with Shell station employees. The video does not show them causing any damage, but it does show them being brought out of the bathroom and stopped from leaving by gas station security. They appear seated on the ground with their hands in the air. At one point Lochte stands up to argue, but is ordered to sit again.
What damage the swimmers did to the gas station that set off the argument is unclear. Reuter’s security source originally reported that they had broken something at the gas station and offered to pay cash for the damage. That story has now changed to say they simply tore a poster of the wall.
6:56 am Sunday morning
The scene picks up at 6:56am, as the athletes passed through security at the Athlete’s Village. On the surveillance video, Lochte is shown messing around with his credentials while the others act quite calmly (too calm, one might think, for people who had just been the victims of an armed robbery).
Today
Currently, all of the swimmers except for Lochte are in Brazil. The Brazilian police ordered the seizure of Feigen’s passport yesterday, and last night stopped Bentz and Conger from boarding a flight home. The Brazilian police are holding a press conference this afternoon that promises to be an absurd affair.
