Slot Machine shows man he won 15 million
Treasure Hunt says it was a machine error</span>
The company says the cashless system terminal on the slot machine, ‘Nubian Gold’, had a glitch and malfunctioned giving the patron winnings of US$167,765.49 (equivalent to just under J$15-M).
Coins or tokens are not necessary, so the patron buys a card inserts it and if he wins, the value of the win is printed out on the card.
Treasure Hunt says Mr Edwards was told about the malfunctioning of the machine on the night when the voucher was generated showing his winnings and he was told to come back Monday morning to be compensated for the “inconvenience”.
When Patrick Edwards, the man who won, returned Monday morning with his voucher to collect, he was again told about the glitch and that he did not really win that amount of money.
Dozens of rowdy onlookers assembled before the gaming lounge, supporting Mr Edwards’ claim and demanding he be paid. Police were called to the scene and kept order.

GUARD SHOT DEAD AT HOME</span></span>
Cops dismiss links to Treasure Hunt dispute
A security guard was shot and killed as he got home Monday night, January 25, in Content Gardens, near Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Dead is Leighton Haye, also called Chris, 42-year-old security guard employed to Treasure Hunt Gaming Lounge. Mr Haye also operated a bar in the Pineapple area of Ocho Rios.
Mr Haye was shot dead about two hours after he had gone home, kissed his common-law wife and gone out again, before returning home in response to a call. His common-law-wife heard the gunshots that killed Mr Haye but didn’t see who murdered him.
She went out shortly after hearing the gunshots and saw his body hanging from his pick-up.
Police said they had heard suggestions that Mr Haye was killed because of his involvement, that same morning, in a [censored] Lounge where he worked. However Detective Sgt. C Brady, lead investigator, said he heard “many things.” He told The Times, “We are not shutting out anything but we are not going down any one road either.”
It is reported that Mr Haye was on duty at the gaming lounge when he had a confrontation with supporters of a man who claimed he won nearly J$15 million on Saturday night.
APPEAL TO EYEWITNESSES
However, police are not giving much weight to speculation that Haye was shot because of that involvement yet they are not ruling it out. Det. Brady said the investigations were in their early stages. He appealed for eyewitnesses to come forward and say what they know.
