IRONSHORE, St James -- A gunman yesterday shot dead 55-year-old American housing developer Geffrey Fanning in this swanky community.
According to the police, about 12:00 noon Fanning was sitting on a chair beside the pool at his Ironshore apartment when he was attacked and shot three times by a gunman, who escaped on foot.
At the poolside, a pool of blood served as a grim reminder of the brutal act.
The police have so far ruled out robbery as the motive for the killing.
A woman who was inside the apartment during the attack was unharmed.
Yesterday, the woman, overcome with grief, wept uncontrollably and had to be consoled by neighbours.
Fanning is the chief executive officer of a housing development company which recently constructed units at Colbeck Heights in Old Harbour, St Catherine.
