I would not have paid, especially if the food had not yet been served. If he was going to be paying for the dinner originally then I would have let him paid and kept it moving.

I would have felt very angry at the audacity for them to accuse me and then asked me to pay for the food that has not come to the table yet! Management did not have to let it even get to that point... bout call the police.

Sometimes our emotions get the best of us, even in public, me personally dont care what the other patrons thought of me, and I dont think her reactions makes black folks look bad.

I can see where the date is coming from, he does not sound confrontational. He would have handle it differently. Maybe she was having a bad day and that was the straw that broke the camel back.

Dunno if she'd been having a bad day, but I gotta say that you've hit it bang on! Her man is a very laid back sorta guy. The peace maker type. She's a bit of a fire cracker

He knows she will go off when pushed, so I don't think he was surprised, but she was by his statement.

That's the thing. Knowing her, I am not surprised at her going off and then throwing the glass. It's her personality and I can't say it was wrong or right. It's just her.

I would leave my man there, go outside and somehow get the number of the Board of Health...come back in the restaurant and call them in front of the restaurant
owners and everyone else. [unless it is off hours n Boad of Health closed.]

Pay the bill and SUE THEM IN SMALL CLAIMS FOR MY MONEY BACK...just for the principle of it...

Had smaddie else's lipstick on a coffee cup once. I'd bin having brunch there for years, so dem know wi, plus wi tip good ...so they just served me in another cup...recently they have been closed and most similar type restaurants here for Health Code violations...whey mi agguh brunch now???

Look like Board of Health here is issuing violations like how Dept of MV a issue paawking tickets..

an btw, is good hiff di police come an tek a statement..eidah dat or copy/tek pickksha of di bill wid mi phone/camera fi show di judge as evidence..

They obviously didn't take her feelings into consideration when they accused her. I would not have paid or allowed my man to pay. What would she be paying for in this case? Ridiculous!

tho he was well within his rights it was embarrassing and I can only imagine how the boyfriend must feel to see his SO carrying on like that in public...

there are better ways to handle difficult scenarios...

Haven't finished reading all yet but this is what I was appaulled at

Yes..how in the world did the Manager make it get this far. Poor service indeed. One time mi an mi fren dem goh a Red Robbin and the waitress brought out a wrong sandwich and when we explained it to her she apoligized instead of being accusary dat a wi orda di wrong ting. Wi nat even ask fi di Manager we thought it was an honest mistake...but in 2 seconds the Manager was at our table offering us the drinks for free, the wrong meal for free and some coupons for the next visit. We ended up giving the waitress a $30 tip. We were just overwhelmed with how professionally she handled the situation. We had extra money from the free meal so wi pass it on to her.

Some things can be handled in such a way that it becomes win win for all. Too bad this icase things went over board

Even if the server is a dingbat, a proper manager would know that the customer is (damn near) always right. Just give the lady a new glass and offer the appetizers free of charge, apologize and carry on.

I would have left w/o paying an mi know say mi woodan probly have to hold back my man if dem try threaten fi call de po-po's
