(CBS) A fight on an Oakland bus that appeared to be racially tinged started because of an <span style="font-weight: bold">elderly white man's remark about shoe-shining, according to a local college student who filmed the incident.</span>
Two men - a bearded white man who said he was 67 years old and a younger black man - can be seen on the video arguing on the transit bus Monday afternoon.
"The white guy was asking the black guy for a shoeshine," Iyanna Washington, the student who shot the video with a small camera, told CBS station KPIX. "And I guess the black guy took it as a racist comment, like, <span style="font-weight: bold">'Why's a black guy have to spit shine your shoes?'" </span>
After several minutes of back-and-forth yelling, the older man moves to the front of the bus, though the argument continues. Eventually, the younger man follows him.
"I guess he hit him across the face once," Washington said. "And then the white guy stands up and lets loose."
The unidentified older man unleashed a flurry of punches that bloodied the face of the younger man, who was later found to have sustained a broken nose, transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.
The older man exited the bus but remained in the area, screaming and kicking at a newsstand. He eventually surrendered when police showed up.
Both men were taken to the hospital. <span style="font-weight: bold">Johnson said the older man was off his medication. </span>
Video shows Washington grabbing the older man's bag and carrying it to the back of the bus while somebody says, "Go through that." But Washington told KPIX that she didn't steal anything.
"Why would I steal the guy's bag?" she said. "I picked the bag up, I placed it on the seat and that was the end of that. When I got off the bus the bag was still on the bus."Comment

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Lie-Annya</span>. The video is quite clear and showed that convo started just before the but and 67 year old man thought he had heard the younger contestant offering a shoeshine.
When they sat down the young guy explained that he had in fact said the opposite remarking, why should a brother spit-shine your shoe. The older man still misinterpreted what big, bad bully said and further tried to explain that he was not racist, he did not care if the shoe shine was from a China Man.
The man may have been insensitive but the only overt racism came from Lie-Ayanna and her film crew. Dumb A22 also posted the video with little or no editing including, her racist egging on of the loser-pugilist...well up until the old man opened a can of whip-[censored] on him and made him swallowed his teeth and put his ebonics to good use, begging for the Amber-Lamps.
<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Lie-Annya</span> then walked her fat [censored] to the front of the bus grabbed the man's scandal bag and rifled it.

The old guy wasn't all that innocent, initially he followed the young guy to the back of the bus ... to pick a fight?

No he went to ask him a question about the misheard shoeshine.
In the video I heard him say "let's get back to business".
Not only that the Young Bully asked him to leave he got up and left.

The black guy should have stayed out of the old guys business
in the 1st instance, since the white guy was not referring to him about shoe shine ...... but there was no misheard, he left his seat at the front and followed the black guy to the back of the bus to, in my opinion, to pick a fight.... and yes the black guy should not have followed him back to the front.
Hence my conclusion they were both being idiots.
I am going to stay on my old meds in case I see you on the bus.

Here again he was the victim if this was him at the Ball game. He warns the cops not to approach him. They shot him once, he just stood there , then they shot him again for no apparent reason.
It seems the man is the butt of jokes and harassment all over OakTown one day he is really going to snap.Comment
