My comment regarding sourcing was not to satisfy some legal concern, even though it's possible such may arise, but only because it's simply the right thing to do. It takes nothing to copy and paste a link at the bottom, or simply to write in where one got the article. If you could register, log on, conduct a search, and post an article, then surely, you should be able to post the source. Regardless of how this board features heated discussions, and passions rise, and given the cut and thrusts of debates, I think I speak for most people in saying that we find this medium valuable, or we wouldn't come here. And if this board is to be a true market place of ideas, then evaluation of sources is important in our debates and discussions as well. </div></div>

that argument was made...posters are encouraged to provide a source but it is not a requirement:

Sorry to veer off course again.

My practice, including this morning when I referenced a Gleaner article in the Antoinette Haughton thread, has been to post an excerpt from the article with a link to view the entire article. That policy you posted doesn't make much sense since it is by showing the source that others can be sure that proper credit is being given for the article, that words are not being passed off as someone else's. Why post even an excerpt without saying where you got that information?

And if this policy was being followed, then there wouldn't be such a blaring contradiction between the "encouragement to provide a source" and saying outright that "it is illegal to post material ... trademarked or copyrighted ..."

Perhaps from now I shouldn't respond to threads where an article or excerpt from an article is posted without a source, because, for all I know, it could be a fake, a fraud, something entirely made up by the poster.

legal requirement....material reproduced is assumed to be done so with the copyright owners permission.

I'll look at the threads, even read the posts, but I won't respond specifically to a POST that contains an article that has no source, because, as I said before, it could just be something entirely made up for all I care.

LOL at this point in time the silence is welcomed.
The Observer in guise of the wicked witch has helped to defang the Jamaican Intellectual after all there paper was formed so said on of their main shareholders to give the PNP a voice, which by extension the jokers at the UWI Social Science department which never saw a corrupt, backward PNP policy that they did not immediately fall in love with and championed death.

As for the Article framing the non-arguement as one of choice of two polemics as in:
