It was way, way over the top IMO. I was at lunch and the TV caught my eye and no lie at first glance I thought it was Obama doing a press conference. Seriously not even Bill Clinton's apology was as somber as the one offered up by Tiger. I felt bad for him having to go out there and do that. He cheated on his wife, albeit multiple times, he owes her an apology, not me, you or his business associates. This is not like the Kobe situation where Kobe was potentially facing criminal charges, or even the Clinton situation where Clinton was accused of lying under oath. Feeling the need to apologize one on one to the people who he know personally is one thing but bottom line he should not have had to go out there and do that. Not good - so what happen if...er when him stumble again.

He'll just have to learn how to restrict and control himself until he retires from Golf at a young enuff age to go for a second Fling. By that time he wouldn't give a damn or care what others say... Just a scenario that I think is unlikely to happen...

true he doesn't 'owe' the public an apology-but if he wants his career &amp; cash flow back, he needs public approval &amp; good will, thats why he came with the mushy apology &amp; brown nosing Elin to get her back with the program.
(with a billion why doesnt he retire &amp; go away?)

that's why i think he is sincere in his apology..he could go back to playing golf tomorrow ans still win..he still has most of his sponsors (still at like 60 million a year)..i think he really wants to be a better person
