mi a try understand why is it that an island of "wood and water" have had such a cronic water (suppy or delivery) problem for sso many years??

Also why is it that the water commission has been allowed to oppress poor people for so many years.
Mi just get a bill fi over $60K fi wan likkle investment.
Mi KNOW mi nuh have nuh leaks, and mi KNOW the tennant nuh use no where near that amount a water.
There has been NO water pressure in the community from jump. The developer claim wi hafi pool some money fi put in a pump.
But wha bun mi is that mi see water flow to waste from a cane farms irrigation system that runs along side the community.

What is the plans for real infastructure in Jamaica?
Ironically, the infastructure for new and emerging technologies in Jamaica can compete with most developed nations, but fi a land of "wood and water", yeah wi good "wood" , but scrice where is the water??!! (an mi naah talk sea wata )
When was the last dam built in Jamaica? How much housig developments and pupulation growth has happened since? Doesnt the lack of investment in this basic infastructure discourage development?

Well if you believe the daily radio announcements, the NWC (apologises) BUT blames the JPS for current lock off that sheg up the pump in the distribution centre.

Althought this might be true in some cases, there's a deeper underlying problem to water shortage in Jamaica, which is mainly due to GOJ lack of planning/ lack of funding said plans.

exactly.
The NWC eeps blaming JOS fi lac of electricy to pumping stations.. but thats when the wata llock off.
When there is adequate electricity, the water comes thru the pipe in a trickle.
You dare not try wash a pot a rice while smaddy a try hold a fresh.
Its like playing water roullette.
Smaddy flush di toilet innaa di next bathroom, and yuh pray yuh neva soapup from head to toe looking like a fustrated Casper the ghost.. wid yuh had cupped under the dry shower head..

What I dont now is if this is just a &quot;poor people thing&quot; cause I wonder if they have the same issues uptown. A mean, Jamaica's govts never short a money to waste, suh I cannnot see one a dem croonies putting up a complex in say Norbook and the bazillion dollar pumping station wid solar and wind technology stand by electrical system nuh get installed.

It's the sme problem uptown, but it's mitigated by the fact that most uptown people have a water tank and a pump that kicks in when wata lock off or pressure low. So you never really feel it like poor people who get water direct from the pipe. And since most politician live uptown, out of sight, out of mind, problem nuh get fix anytime soon.

It would be nice to see a govt take on the water supply infastructure in amaica.. guess same way PJ decided his legasy would be the highways (as misguided as the details has been)..
