VANCOUVER, B.C. - NBC opted to break up its coverage of the Vancouver Olympics closing ceremonies Sunday night, to squeeze in a new reality show.

The finale to the Games at B.C. Place kicked off at 8:30 p.m. ET and wrapped up around 11 p.m. ET.

NBC, the U.S. host broadcaster for the Games, scheduled coverage from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET, then switched to the debut of &quot;The Marriage Ref,&quot; produced by Jerry Seinfeld.

Local news followed, with a return to the coverage at 11:35 p.m. ET. ~ <span style="font-style: italic">Continued</span>

Who says that viewers have rights to finish watching what they started to watch?... The Corporate boys will decide &quot;what and when the &quot;plebians&quot; get to watch &quot;whatever&quot; is served up..

Not sure who planned the closing ceremonies but I found much of it very embarrassing and amateurish.

But Canada won the hockey game so who cares?

I guess this may be really what all &quot;that&quot; was about!.. If the Ameicans had won, it would be like a <span style="font-weight: bold">2nd Miracle on ICE</span> with non-stop commentaries and self congratulations. If the Canadians had lost, it would be like a &quot;national disaster&quot; followed by <span style="font-weight: bold">a day of mourning.</span> Anyhow, All's well that ends well. ~ Congrats to Team Canada!!
