or what I can say

I know the family..... and there is just sooo much stuff entangled in this whole story..

I feel it for everyone involved.
Especially for the oldest daughter.. I believe there is a lot of mental and emotional anguish that has yet to be resolved. This story is years of pain and abuse.

This family was in plain sight but yet secluded from the world. Also note.. the father and the children are EXTREEMLY intelligent. Though home schooled they would test well above 'average' intelligence.. This man is MAD GENIUS me ah tell you.. There was a time in my life that I was so afraid of him... so I can just imagine the torture that the family endured.

And before we pass judgement on race or nationality.. let it be said.. there is Jamaican heritage well mixed into this family... Dem chat patwa like me and you..

I posted a thread about a father in Jamaica who was abusing his daughter in DearK/John and the silence was deafening.

The mother is always culpable in all this. No way in hell could she NOT suspect that something was going on, and as Marilyn's post suggest to me, most times they collude for whatever reason [shame. etc] with the man.

Incest is a disease,,,somebody is mental...if it occurs let out a cry and a hue so that it can be dealt with as soon as possible and not move on to involve even other children in the family.


Reminds me of the story where the girl took a shotgun to the father after he started molesting her younger sister [also]...

I can't argue with that.. the mother does hold some blame.. BUT.. this man was very controlling and he brutally beat *all* of them.. They were all living in fear for their lives.. fear is crippling and it can even allow you to give up your will..

As she has testified.. she was aware of what was going on.. but she had no power cause the man threatened to kill the babies.. her babies.. it is stated that she assisted in the birth of her grandchildren.. all of this came to a cold and brutal end in 2002.. thats when the girls grew up and band together to fight back and gain their freedom.. There is a lot to this twisted and sad drama.. it is not all cut and dry..

His wife conceived about 11 times for him.. and he had countless others.. The wife was pregnant through the majority of her time with him.. She may be guilty of subjecting her children to the brutal environment but she was brutalized severely as well.

Yes, very true. My first instinct is to say the mother knows what is going on and if she doesn't &quot;put a stop to it&quot; (by reporting it, even if only to her GP), she is colluding, but she is most likely just as much a victim, the first one, actually.
She is already well gone and has lost herself (or her identity) by the time he starts on the children.

So sad that people are so out of touch with their own power that they let another hold it - theirs - over them......

So, where was the police and social services while all this was going on?!!

But, this stuff makes me so sick and , what about the all the stuff that is hitting the headlines now? (never mind the effin vatican), what about the guy in england who impregnated his 2 daughters 19 times.........
and innumerous agencies all - well, chasing their career, basically - and doing *****!!!!

She wasn't trapped in the house 24/7... she had to leave for a while, even in one day, and this is where she should have gone to the police as soon as she knew about it.

She could have spared those children so much pain.

This is one time when I believe *an eye for an eye*...he doesn't deserve to live....he robbed them of their life and he should be robbed of his. This crime should carry the death penalty.

I hear you.. and I do not say in no way you are wrong.. but it is kind of hard to leave the house with so many little children.. and not even know where you were.. Trust me when I tell you.. no one knew where they were half the times.. and the mother does not drive nor *own* anything.. I hear you though..

Just know this man was brutal and controlling.. he kept his family like secret prisoners.. Most persons did not even know that there were so *many* of them.. the whole thing is just sad.

If it were just her alone in there with a mad man, then I could better understand how she did nothing. But once she found out her children were being abused, she had an obligation to protect them and put a stop to it.

Perhaps she should have just killed him and buried him in the back yard next to those babies and said he ran off with another woman.

Regardless, she needs to be brought up on some charges herself.
