Shower was the refrain of of the JLP,used to counter the PNP's 'Power'.
Itstarted as the refrain used at political meetings. It then emigrated to meetings. Then the local party thugs adopted it.
It just migrated with them when they were recruited to distribute.
And they were actually recruited I remember having a difficult time trying to convince many young and not so young that the visa they were getting was a poison bullet.

The &quot;Shower Posse&quot; was really a group of renegade &quot;shottas&quot; (mainly from Tivoli Gdns) that cliqued with Tony Bruce, and ironically AGAINST Jim Brown and Vivian Blake (who american infulenced instory wrongly titles the head of the Shower Posse).
Tony Bruce was Vivian Blacke's younger half brother. Tony was the real leader of the shottas calling themself Shower, not Vivian Blake or Jim Brown as the media had led people to believe. Jim Brown was Tivoli Gdns leader after Bya coked himself to death.. bit he was never a Shower Posse member or leader in the true sence.. Yes they feared him, but most of the renegades never liked him.
(His chickens came home to roost and Tony Bruce was killed in in Smokey Vale home at last year)
He was the hot headed shotta who had actually killed a bredren name skitta from spranglers when him was no more dan 15 years old.
Tony Bruce, Waxy , Arrow, Ruddy, Butter, Jr Screw and Killo were the first set a shottas from Tivoli to use the term Shower! as a Gang slang. What they would do is after leaving parties (originally in Miami) they would fire shots in the air while bawling out SHower! Shower!
Another incident that made the &quot;shower&quot; thing popular was during a party in upper manhatan. A shower posse member name Stretch had a fight wid a dread. Stretch back him gun and shot the dread.
The party did full a tense Shower, Payne land and Spranglers posse members, suh hearing the shots everyman draw dem gun and start to fire after anything whey move. (Shower Posse members were known to be very jumpy..)
It alleged that couple hundred rounds were fired in the club.
All di police dem run leff dem patrol car.
Then ontop of dat Vivian Blake did have a girl whey he had beaten up name Joy Cash. Suh there was this popular outing that the Jamaican community in NY use to love go on. A few week before a Shower posse member name Duda was killed by Spranglers . Suh as a revenge Joy Cash start a romour that Shower Posse members were going to take revenge on the Spangelers posse during the outing.
Suh the Spranglers and WHite Plains Rd posse man dem hearing this made sure dem carried dem guns and tense.
The Shower Posse man dem never know whey a gwaan.
During the outing at a park in NJ, a Shower posse member name Cracker was straighen up him pants waist when a hombe from white plains rd posse get jumpy think a gun the man a go for and shoot cracker and a hombre name Lenky-Roy.
Lenky-roy died but Cracker escaped.
Hearing the gunshots, all a di spanglers man dem start pop off at the SHower posse man dem.
Allegedly couple thousand shots were fired during the incident.
While the shower posse member fired less than a hundred shots, again THEY got the brand as &quot;Showering their enemies with bullets&quot;

What many Jamaicans need fi understand is that details of the Shower Posse is an america TV thing. Anyone who watch American TV nowadays understand that sensationalizm gets priority over facts.

the reality confirmed by family who was &quot;supposedly&quot; apart of Shower. Back in the days, dis gallis uncle come in from country and use to live wid us outta east. Him breed a girl name Erica who was Jim Brown's cousin. Tru she him got drawn into the whole Shower business and use to hang out a gdns, but him never like the shottas business (but as a St. Mary man, him neva hitch fi draw him cutlass). Jim Brown never really condone the Shower business and him was one a di few people Jim Brown trusted. Him was one on the last persons to speak to JahT as he had helped to load the truck a liquor that JahT was leading back to claude massop's memberance di day him got shot off him cbr.
