I enjoyed the movie...S82, u same one say that the loud mout miserable chick bawl afta dem an talk down to them..but didn't she also do it to the chick int he airport and har hubby coworkaz and har friend ex hubby an jus about every dyam body else in the movie??

She neva partial to JUST the bahamian dem, that is her character. Nobody else inna de movie neva chat down to anyone...an mi nuh hear of them talkin down or disrespecting the bahamian ppl when they were not 'on set'.

some ppl dont get the negative implecations, all u can talk dem still tink dat tourist on the island is $$, it might be to some extent, but we/jamaica still pay the price for it,

I didn't view Stella as exhibiting sexual tourism. That term implies that this was the reason for going abroad, i.e. to engage in a casual sexual liaison. This relationship lead to a marriage between 2 people of a certain age differance, even though the man entered it and then begain acting out his latent homosexuality. Remember, when he begain his relationship he was only 20, and may not have realistically faced his own sexuality.

They are divorced. She is still bitter. I heard her on the radio last week chatting up the sequel to Waiting to Exhale. She didn't even try to mask her bitterness. Oh well.

I agree that it's possible that the film was viewed that way, although I just saw it then as a reverse May-December romance. When men engage in that age difference, nothing is said about it, but when women do the same, somehow it's viewed as shameful.

This is a very narrow viewpoint of Tyler. Not true that he doesn't do anything to &quot;uplift&quot; black. I can assure you he has done more to help the black community than you yourself have done in a decade

Here too, I had to go to two different theatres to be able to get a ticket. It was worth it though I guess.
