Jamaican fugitive <span style="font-weight: bold">arrested by US authorities </span>

Extradition proceedings have commenced against another Jamaican fugitive who is wanted by the US authorities.
Fifty-year-old musician Mark Antonio Clarke of Parks Road in St. Andrew was arrested Tuesday during an early morning operation conducted by the Fugitive Apprehension Team (FAT).
Shortly after 5 o'clock <span style="font-weight: bold">an operation was carried out in Parks Road </span>by personnel from the FAT, Flying Squad and Mobile Reserve.
During the operation, Mr. Clarke who is wanted in the United States for narcotics offences was arrested.
According to the Constabulary Communication Network, Clarke is member <span style="font-weight: bold">of a drug trafficking organization which operated in the East St. Louis and Illinois Metropolitan areas</span>.
During 2004 and 2008 large quantities of marijuana were distributed by the syndicate.
Clarke fled the United States to Jamaica in May 2008.
He is to appear in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court Thursday for an extradition hearing.
