I imagine thousands of people are stranded over the world, cannot fly back to Europe; or out of Europe....like some students here on a few days visit.

This is scary and *sigh* wondering wha nexx? We just have to sit tight and wait.

The wife of one of the many managing directors stuck in New York, called his assistant yesterday <span style="font-weight: bold">demanding</span> to know when he will be returning. She has cancelled the nanny's weekend off because she can't cope with the kids on her own. They are 15, 13 and 9... There is also a live in housekeeper.

We have three private jets on standby one to leave from the UK and two from NY so we can get these poor pampered pooches home as soon as possible.

My poor friend was due to fly to Montego Bay on Thursday... she's still here. What a ting! Mother Nature is not playing!

I saw an interesting piece on what that ash can do to a plane that tries to fly through it...I think they would be wise to wait.

I posted about this in the international news thread. I should be in Ireland this weekend....
Lucky friends of mine went to Paris this weekend - in the car!

But! Enjoying an extra w/e here, can do a lot of left-lying-around stuff, can smoke a j. (not there), enjoy the sunshine, go out....

What a scream, this country.....
There's been like 2000 - poor them! - people stranded at the airport behind customs, can't get to their luggage (house guests, like fish start to smell after 3 days... ), do have the possibility of taking showers tho, phew! the airport has put down those army type field beds.
Anyway, they are being entertained by music and &quot;stroopwafels&quot;
(double layered biscuits with treacle in them).

Yeah I had someone tell me they had a friend &quot;stuck&quot; in Paris, and I said I don't think the two terms go together.

Marilyn, although they believe they are superior beings, they will have to wait just like everyone else. The private jets are booked so as soon as the ban is lifted they'll be on their way rather than having to navigate space on scheduled airlines.
