Are There Descendants of Amerindians/Arawaks in Jamaica?

Common beliefs have the notion that all indigenous people of the Caribbean went extinct during the European imperialism era. However, there is an article I found that says a Jamaican man has 7% of indigenous DNA. I also saw on another forum where a girl says that her family has Arawak and Taino lineage.

So, is it true?

Is it just wishful thinking?

Are there indigenous people left in Jamaica?

mostly in the maroons...but sparsely scattered in a few others

Yeah, I'm sure there is indigenous DNA around, probably more than we know.
However, Arawaks as a people with their own culture etc. no longer exists in Jamaican as far as I know.
