Former president of the Moravian church, Dr Paul Gardner, has been charged with carnal abuse.
Gardner as well as Jermaine Gibson, who was vice president of the church, were today slapped with the charges following investigations by detectives from the Centre for Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
Superintendent Enid Ross Stewart, head of CISOCA, said the clergymen were charged about midday. She said that a court date has not yet been set.
Dr Gardner quit as president of the Moravian Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands earlier this month amid allegations of sexual misconduct within the organisation. Gibson, who was his deputy, also resigned.
Rupert Clarke, 64, another Moravian minister, is currently before the courts for alleged sexual misconduct. He has been charged with having sex with a 15 year old girl.
while in Ja last week i listened to the older sister tell her tale about her involvement with th first parson who was arrested after the police caught him with her 15 yr ole sister...she said that an older sister had a child fi di parson....she had an affair with him n over the years he had been giving her money and food....she was 17 yrs old..she said she had sent the 15yr old to pick up the food n money from the parson n when the child eventually came home she said the parson said he couldnt just give over the things without something in return..so that is y he was having sex with the 15 yr old
as to the Headmistress.. i watched the video which showed the parson leaving court n the good lady trying to block whoever was trying to film the event..what troubled me was the headmistress saying to the cameraman that he should take pictures of others and referred him to the 'pretty young girls over there'..that statement was troubling given that she has the responsibility for hundreds of young girls...the other thing is that she said she was a friend of the parson's wife n was there for support....the thing is that the wife was NOT there...n of course the headmistress supposedly paid the bail for the parson
