Lawyers representing the two men held on Tuesday in a major operation by members of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID), in Beverly Hill, St. Andrew, on Friday filed a writ in court demanding that the men be brought before the court.

Businessman Jason Kong, 50 and Yun Seng Xhang, 30 were charged with breaches of the Trademark Act and the Excise Duty Control Act.

However, they have not yet been brought before the court.

In court on Friday, defence attorney Bert Samuels filed the writ and asked that his clients be taken before the court on Monday.

The two men were arrested after the cops raided Mr. Kong's Shenstone Drive residence and seized $40 millions in cash and millions of dollars in counterfeit cigarettes and alcohol on Tuesday

Counterfeit Coins?

Maybe this explains why certain grocery shops always have shiny new coins for change yet you never see the owners/operators in a bank. For a long time I have suspected that counterfeit coins were coming into the island. The shop nearest to me even refuses change.
